Former India skipper Virat Kohli has been rested for the ongoing Super Four game of the Asia Cup 2023 against Bangladesh. The ongoing game is a dead rubber as the Tigers have been ruled out of the finals race. On the other hand, the Men In Blue are already qualified for the final, joined by Sri Lanka on September 14.

For the ongoing game, the seven-time champions have made quite a lot of changes. They have rested the likes of Kohli, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav, and Jasprit Bumrah.

India playing XI: 1 Rohit Sharma (capt), 2 Shubman Gill, 3 Suryakumar Yadav, 4 Tilak Varma, 5 KL Rahul (wk), 5 Ishan Kishan, 6 Ravindra Jadeja, 8 Axar Patel, 9 Shardul Thakur, 10 Mohammed Shami, 11 Prasidh Krishna

Talking about the game, India won the toss and elected to bowl first. They had a great start as they took four wickets for 59 runs. Shardul Thakur took two wickets while Shami and Patel took one each at this stage. Skipper Shakib Al Hasan and Towhid Hridoy put together 101 runs for the fifth wicket.

Both batters scored a half-century each. After this wicket, the team was reduced to 193/7. Nasum Ahmed, Mahedi Hasan, and Tanzim Hasan Shakib helped the team reach 265/8. In reply, the former champions lost two wickets for just 17/2. Debutant Tilak Varma and skipper Rohit Sharma got out cheaply. At the time of writing, KL Rahul and Shubman Gill have put together 48 runs for the third wicket. The team is sitting at 65/2 in 14 overs.

Meanwhile, the former India skipper is headed to the nets for his batting practice. Earlier in the day, he attracted a lot of attention while coming out as a water boy. For the first time since 2017, he has taken that duty. While coming out, he did some antics that have been going viral on social media.
