Kuldeep Yadav requests break for his wedding amidst ongoing IND v SA series- Reports

Ace India spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who made the ball turn and spike on day one of the ongoing first Test against South Africa in Kolkata, has reportedly shocked BCCI with his request. Reportedly, Kuldeep Yadav has asked the BCCI to let him leave the ongoing series midway for his wedding.

In recent months, Kuldeep Yadav, who got engaged in June of this year, has been associated with India in all forms. He was chosen for the Australia white-ball trip, the England tour, the home series against the West Indies, and now the South Africa assignment.  

Kuldeep would undoubtedly miss the second Test in Guwahati and possibly the three-match ODI series against South Africa if the leave is approved.

The Times of India reports that Kuldeep Yadav has scheduled his wedding for the final week of November and is awaiting approval of his leave by the BCCI.

“Kuldeep’s wedding is planned for the last week of Nov. The team management will assess when they will need his services before granting him the exact number of leaves,” a BCCI source told the Times of India.

The schedule does not relent going forward as well since India has important assignments scheduled against New Zealand, followed by the 2026 T20 World Cup.

During the engagement ceremony, Kapil Pandey, Kuldeep Yadav's coach, disclosed that the wedding would probably take place in November following a little delay.

“The IPL has just ended, and the England tour will start soon, so players couldn’t join. The wedding will be finalized on an auspicious date, probably in November. A starry turnout is expected," Kapil Pandey told the Hindustan Times in June.

The Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati will host the start of the second Test match between South Africa and India on Saturday, November 22. In contrast, the five-match T20I series will take place after the three-match ODI series, which will take place between November 30 and December 6.
