“He is my guru from the England tour” - Kuldeep Yadav makes a big revelation about his teammate

Kuldeep Yadav, the star Indian spinner, has revealed that the Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been his guru since the recently concluded England tour. Notably, Kuldeep entered the West Indies Test series on the back of a successful Asia Cup 2025 campaign.

While Kuldeep didn’t get a chance to play any of the five Tests against England in the Anderson Tendulkar Trophy, he emerged as the leading wicket-taker in the Asia Cup 2025 campaign with 17 wickets from seven games as India defeated Pakistan in the grand finale to lift the silverware.

For the unversed, Jadeja scalped a four-wicket haul in the second innings, and he smashed an exceptional century in the first innings to change the game’s complexion in the first Test in Ahmedabad against the West Indies. Furthermore, Kuldeep also talked about the technical differences between the white ball and red ball formats.

"It's very important to hit the lengths perfectly and be very accurate. As you can see Jadeja is here and he is my guru from the England tour. I've been very consistent throughout the Asia Cup and here as well, just hitting the right lengths. When you keep hitting the right length, you feel like you are bowling well. We hardly talk about anything (with Jadeja) cricket-related but yeah, it's good to have him around," Kuldeep told JioHotstar.

"Playing red-ball is totally different from the T20 format. I personally feel I bowled enough in England, though I did not get a game. Practice wise, I was right up there. Playing the T20 format, you have to change the trajectory of the ball and you can't go too lollypop there. But here (Test), you have to pitch the ball up and make the batter drive the ball," he concluded.
