Both Riley Meredith and Tim David are currently busy playing for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the ongoing IPL. On 18 April 2023, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) locked horns with MI in the ongoing tournament. However, MI continued their winning momentum as they won the match by 14 runs. It was the third consecutive win for Rohit Sharma and his men after two back-to-back losses in the first two matches.

However, both Riley Meredith and Tim David played a huge role in the match. Meredith took two wickets for 33 runs in four overs. David scored 16 runs off 11 balls and got involved in five dismissals. While fielding, he took four catches and managed a direct runout. Now, an image has gone viral where Meredith was seen kissing David’s cheek. Seeing that, fans went crazy and shared their views on social media.

Speaking of the match, MI batted first and scored 192 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. Cameron Green scored 64* runs off 40 balls, including six fours and two sixes. Tilak Varma also scored 37 runs off 17 balls. For SRH, Marco Jansen took two wickets while Natarajan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took one wicket each. In reply, SRH got bundled out for 178 runs in 19.5 overs. For MI, Jason Behrendorff, Riley Meredith, and Piyush Chawla grabbed two wickets each. Along with them, Green and Arjun Tendulkar took one wicket each. Green won the Player of the Match award for his all-round performance.

After that match, MI skipper Rohit Sharma said: “It is important for us to settle the bowlers in. We have got a couple of guys who haven't played IPL before. It is important to back them. And they are coming into their own. I am enjoying my batting. I am liking what I do. Of course, I would take the next step, but it is a different role. We have been talking about setting the tempo early. One of us needs to bat deep, but as long as we are getting big scores, we are happy. We have a deep batting line-up, and we need to make sure they bat freely.”
