Senior Indian batter and vice-captain KL Rahul recently tied the knot with Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty. The duo got married on the 23rd of January earlier this week. Subsequently, the grand reception to the extended friends is scheduled to be held post-Indian T20 League.

Meanwhile, social media was filled with a couple of news stories that the couple received expensive gifts from a few renowned cricketers and personalities from other fields.

But in a shocking revelation, KL Rahul’s family denied and debunked all the fake news stories with a statement that the couple hadn’t got any expensive gift from anyone.

“All the reports published are absolutely baseless and not true. We request the press fraternity to confirm details before publishing such incorrect information in the public domain,” said KL Rahul’s family to the Bombay Times.

KL Rahul might be seen in action in the Test series against Australia next month

Talking about cricket, KL Rahul is not a part of the Indian cricket team for the last couple of weeks due to his marriage. He was also enduring a poor run of form for a long time since the Asia Cup 2022 and the 20-20 World Cup 2022. The 30-year-old also failed to meet the expectations in the white-ball bilateral assignments against Bangladesh.

On the other hand, Team India is currently in action against New Zealand in the ongoing white-ball series. The hosts won the three-match ODI series with a margin of 3-0 and the three-match T20I series is set to commence on the 27th of January.

Both teams will lock horns in the first of the three-match T20I series at Jharkhand Cricket Association Stadium in Ranchi.
