The first of a three-match ODI series between India and Bangladesh is currently being played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. After winning the toss, Bangladesh's captain Litton Das decided to bowl first. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan, India's opening pair, were anticipated to perform just as they have in the past on numerous occasions.
However, in the first innings, neither of the batters was able to accomplish much with the bat. Even the in-form batter Virat Kohli was unable to do much on a track that had a bit of turn and bounce on offer. Only KL Rahul, batting at number five was the saving grace for the Men in Blue in the innings.
The star batter handled the difficult circumstances well and played a responsible knock. He took his time to settle in but played some excellent shots throughout the innings. Rahul was a delight to watch in his half-century knock. The wickets kept falling at the other end while he held on to one end, and no other batter could support him in the innings.
Rahul ended up getting 73 runs in the 70 balls that he faced, with five boundaries and four hits over the fence. He was finally dismissed by Ebadot Hossain in the 40th over of the innings. KL hoped to hit the short-pitched delivery for a six, but it bounced excessively and took the top edge. The fielder at fine leg was in the ideal spot and made a good judgment for a low catch.
In the end, the Men in Blue were restricted to a low score of 186-10. Shakib Al Hasan and Ebadot Hossain were the picks of the bowlers taking five-wicket hauls and four-wicket hauls, respectively.
In the meantime, Twitter was pleased with KL Rahul's performance in the game. "It's officially a collapse with KL Rahul watching from the other end," wrote a fan.

Too early to comment anything on KL Rahul. Though he has held one side of the batting, but then there is lot to prove for him. Instinct says, he has all the deeds to become a proper middle-order, to be played at No 5

Last time India toured Bangladesh for ODI, they lost the series 2-1. Here they are struggling on 168-8 in 1st ODI, Shakib is all over them right now, picked up five-for with still an over to go for him. KL Rahul fighting hard and alone 👏#INDvsBAN #BANvsIND
