On 3 May 2023, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) took on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the ongoing IPL at Ekana Cricket Stadium. However, the match got called off after 19.2 overs of LSG’s innings due to rain. So, both teams shared one point each. However, LSG came to this clash after a defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

But, after that match, Virat Kohli and LSG mentor, Gautam Gambhir got involved in an ugly verbal spat. It made headlines and both of them got fined 100% of their match fee. However, it all started with the on-field spat between the former RCB skipper and LSG bowler, Naveen-ul-Haq. Now, a video from the CSK clash has gone viral where some fans were seen yelling Virat Kohli’s chant toward Gambhir while he was walking up the stairs.

Hearing that, Gambhir took a pause and had an angry stare at fans. Seeing such a reaction from the former Team India cricketer, fans have shared their views on social media. Speaking of the match, MS Dhoni won the toss and asked LSG to bat first. After a dreadful start, Ayush Badoni steadied the ship for his team and they were at 125 runs for seven wickets in 19.2 overs before the rain struck. Badoni remained not out on 59* runs off 33 balls, including two fours and four sixes.

For CSK, Moeen Ali, Maheesh Theekshana, and Matheesha Pathiran grabbed two wickets each. But, Ravindra Jadeja took one wicket. As the match got called off, CSK are now in the third spot with 11 points in 10 games, with five wins. While LSG are in the second spot with 11 points in 10 games, with five wins also. Now, CSK will face Mumbai Indians (MI) in the next match in Chennai. While, LSG will take on the defending champion, Gujarat Titans (GT) in Ahmedabad.
