Rohit Sharma is currently preparing to play for the Mumbai franchise in the upcoming Indian T20 League 2023. After a terrible season last time, Rohit will look for a much better season from his players. On the other hand, Pragyan Ojha was an instrumental part of the franchise from 2013 to 2015.
Rohit was the skipper and both of them played together for India also in 24 matches, including two Tests. Now, in an interview with Jio Cinema, Ojha shared how Rohit made changes throughout his career. He also opened up about his struggles during the early days as Rohit had to deliver milk packets to buy his cricket kit.
“When I first met Rohit in the U-15 national camp, everyone said he was a very special player.” - Pragyan Ojha on Rohit Sharma
During that interaction, Pragyan Ojha said how their friendship grew between them over the years. He said: “When I first met Rohit in the U-15 national camp, everyone said he was a very special player. There, I played against him and took his wicket. Rohit was a typical Bombay guy who didn’t speak much but was aggressive when he played. In fact, I was very surprised as to why he was being so aggressive with me when we didn’t know each other! But after that our friendship began to grow”.
“He was from a middle-class family and I remember he once got emotional when we discussed how his budget for cricket kits was restricted. In fact, he also delivered milk packets – of course, that was really a long time ago – so that he could buy his kit. Now when I see him, I feel very proud of how our journey started and where we reached,” Ojha concluded. Listening to that, fans went crazy and slammed Ojha brutally on the social media platform. They even blamed Ojha for always taking Rohit’s name to be in the headlines.
Here is how fans have reacted to the bizarre statement shared by Ojha about Rohit:
