The 2023 ODI World Cup is all set to take place in India later this year as all teams are preparing hard for the mega event. However, Kagiso Rabada will be a player to watch out for South Africa in the tournament. Many Protea players have played so far in IPL over the years for several franchises.

But, now regarding that, the Protea pacer came up with a huge comment. While speaking to IOL, Rabada claimed that South Africa will have an advantage going into the World Cup as many of their players have played for different teams on different grounds in India. Listening to that, fans shared their views.

“We have played at most of the grounds, if not all, so we understand those conditions” - Kagiso Rabada

He said: “Playing in India is really tough as a fast bowler on some of those wickets. I guess the challenge now, at the age that I am, is to know (and understand) the basic information that a newbie wouldn’t know. You are always learning and always looking to be as effective as you can be on different wickets. It is all about reading (the pitch) better and that is in combination with the goals that you set. Those two go in tandem – reading the conditions and executing your skills."

“It sounds very nonchalant and easy to say, but it is a very rigorous process and a tough one. That is the process that I am currently involved in. That is where I am. Heading into the World Cup in India, I do think that we have an advantage because we have played in the IPL for so many years. We have played at most of the grounds, if not all, so we understand those conditions,” he concluded. Rabada had a poor IPL 2023 while playing Punjab Kings (PBKS) as he took seven wickets in six games. In India, he has taken 13 wickets in seven ODIs so far, at an economy of 5.16.
