Laced with some quality players, Kings XI Punjab were one of the prime contenders for the IPL title in 2020. However, they started poorly and lost six of their first 7 games. Even though KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal were scoring consistently, a miserable performance from the middle order, especially Glenn Maxwell saw them stumble to consecutive losses.

The quality was still there and it was a matter of time before Kings get back to winning ways. Punjab found some form in the second half of the tournament and won 5 back to back games. They needed a win in their last two games to qualify for the playoffs but unfortunately, lost both of their final matches and were knocked out of the tournament.

With 53.20 crores in the kitty, KXIP will b eyeing to bid for some big names. They have 9 slots available, five of which can be for overseas players.
