‘Khud ka thikana nahi aur chala dusre ko back karne’ - Fans slam Kedar Jadhav for backing Ruturaj Gaikwad as next CSK captain

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is currently busy playing in the ongoing IPL. Ruturaj Gaikwad has been enjoying a good season so far. However, this season might be the last one when MS Dhoni is leading the franchise. So, CSK fans are hoping for a new era under a new captain if finally Dhoni leaves.

Speaking of Ruturaj Gaikwad, he has scored 197 runs in four matches, at an average of 65.67. Now, a former CSK player, Kedar Jadhav came up with a bold prediction for the star young batter from India. He backed Gaikwad to be the next skipper of CSK after MS Dhoni’s era although there are other options like Ben Stokes and Ravindra Jadeja.

"I think Ruturaj Gaikwad could be the captain of CSK after MS Dhoni.” - Kedar Jadhav

As an IPL commentator and expert for JioCinema, Kedar Jadhav said: "I think Ruturaj Gaikwad could be the captain of CSK after MS Dhoni. Ben Stokes is also another potential captain along with Ravindra Jadeja. But for that Stokes has to play really well for CSK this year. Availability is another issue. So I think Rituraj Gaikwad is the best option to captain CSK after MS Dhoni". He also added that Ruturaj has been showing a lot of consistency in the domestic circuit.

Hence, he should get a long run in team India after the 2023 ODI World Cup. Kedar Jadhav said: “Ruturaj is a very quality player and I feel after the World Cup, he should get consistent chances the way he has performed across formats, be it Ranji Trophy or T20s with the IPL. I do think he is a promising young talent”. Gaikwad had a great 2021 season for CSK as he scored 635 runs in 16 matches. He was the highest run scorer in that season and CSK won the title. However, Ruturaj will be in action again on 17 April 2023 against RCB at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
