Karun Nair made his Test debut against England in Mohali in November 2016, and scored his maiden Test century in the series finale at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, scoring 303 runs and staying unbeaten. Nair also became the quickest batter in Test cricket history to hit a maiden triple century in terms of matches played.
The hosts won by an innings and 75 runs, and Nair was named player of the match, putting him in the spotlight. But that was his only spectacular performance, as he appeared in his final Test in March 2017 and his last ODI in June 2016.
On Saturday, December 10, Nair posted a cryptic message on his official Twitter account, while fans celebrated Ishan Kishan's double century - the fastest in men's ODI history. "Dear cricket, give me one more chance", he tweeted.

The 31-year-old last played for Mysuru Warriors in the Maharaja T20 Trophy. Nair hit 257 runs in 12 games, averaging 23.36 and striking out 146.02. He also scored 91* against the Hubli Tigers in Mysore, bagging a half-century.
Despite the brilliant knock of 300, the right-handed batter has only played six Tests and two One-Day Internationals in his international career. Nair's brief stint with the Indian team has divided opinion. Some believe he squandered most of his opportunities, while others believe he was simply unlucky not to play more matches for India.
Kishan, on the other hand, smashed 210 in 131 balls in the third and final ODI of the series against Bangladesh in Chattogram, opening the innings in Rohit Sharma's absence due to a thumb injury. He reached 200 off 126 balls, breaking Chris Gayle's record of 138 balls for the fastest double hundred in one-day cricket.
