Karun Nair reveals he didn’t enjoy the triple century moment as he should have

Notably, Nair has been roped in by the Indian team for the England tour, scheduled to start on June 20 at Headingley, Leeds. Interestingly, Nair played an important role in propelling Vidarbha to a Ranji Trophy title win and played a pivotal role in batting for the Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025.

"I should have celebrated that 300 more. I don't think that I enjoyed that moment as I should have. Like when I see how people enjoy their milestones, I have learnt that you should not keep your joy within you, you have to show it. I think at that time, I did not value that moment enough. I should have enjoyed that moment a little more," Karun Nair told Ravi Ashwin in an interview.

Furthermore, Nair asserted that the game of cricket is not a gentleman’s game anymore, as there is a lot of freedom for everyone in whatever they do. He also reckoned that he isn’t sure about the usage of a term like a gentleman’s game in the future.

"I am not sure that the gentleman's game is a thing any more. There is a lot of freedom in whatever they do. The young kids are free to say things a lot of us would not say, and they play the way they want to play. I am not sure that gentleman's game will be a term used in the future," Nair said.

"They can look up to maybe Rahul Dravid (if they want to look up to a cricketer who personifies the gentleman's game)," he asserted.
