All eyes were on the Bangalore franchise as they took on Mumbai in their Indian T20 League 2023 season opener at the Chinnaswamy stadium. However, they did not disappoint their fans as they registered an eight-win victory. Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli played great knocks to chase down 172 runs with ease.

After such a dominating performance, all fans went crazy and they were celebrating the victory over the five-time ITL champions. Videos have gone viral where Bangalore fans were seen celebrating in metros. Now, a video has gone viral where Bangalore players were seen celebrating the victory in the dressing room.

Bangalore won the match with 22 balls to spare against Mumbai

Seeing that video, fans did not like the way they celebrated only one win. They claimed that it seemed that the players have won the trophy and celebrated like hell. Players like Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and others were found celebrating and were seen singing a theme song also. So, they came up and shared their views on the social media platform. Speaking of the match, Mumbai batted first and scored 171 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs. Young batter, Tilak Varma was the star of the show as he scored 84* runs off 46 balls, including nine fours and four sixes. 

In reply, both Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli put up a 148-run partnership for the first wicket for Bangalore. Du Plessis scored 73 runs off 43 balls while Kohli scored 82* runs off 49 balls. Thus, they chased down the target with eight wickets in hand and 22 balls to spare. After such a win, the former Bangalore skipper said: "Take one game at a time and try to be a balanced side which we are and we would look to execute our plans as we did tonight (April 2)".
