The eighth edition of the 20-20 World Cup has finally reached its last stage as Jos Buttler-led England is set to face Babar Azam’s Pakistan in the title clash of the tournament. Notably, both teams are facing each other in the final of a World Cup after 30 years since 1992, and that too at the same venue of the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne.

Prior to the title clash against the men in green, English skipper, Jos Buttler was in a conversation with Sanjana Ganesan, the broadcaster for the governing body of cricket. Meanwhile, Sanjana asked the three lions’ skippers about the latter’s pick for the Player of the tournament in the eighth edition of the 20-20 World Cup.

The 32-year-old senior wicketkeeper-batter named the star Indian batting sensation Suryakumar Yadav as his Player of the tournament for the ongoing edition of the marquee tournament of the shortest format. Buttler reckoned that SKY played with a mindset of ‘extreme freedom’ and was eye-catching to everyone amidst the presence of some big names in India’s lineup for the 20-20 World Cup.
"I think Suryakumar Yadav," replied Buttler while responding to a question from Sanjana Ganesan.
"I think Suryakumar Yadav, for me, has been someone who's played with extreme freedom. He's been incredibly eye-catching to watch in such a star-studded line-up. To stand out the way he has is amazing,” he added later.
Furthermore, the English skipper also mentioned the two England players who dropped an impact on everyone during the tournament for their team. The Somerset veteran also felt that these two English guys are strongly in contention for the award.
"Of course, there's a couple of our guys on that sheet as well - Sam Curran and Alex Hales. If they put in a great performance in the final, they can be the Player of the Tournament for me," concluded the English skipper.
