Hardik Pandya is currently busy leading the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the ongoing IPL. However, last year he got the opportunity to become the captain of the franchise. But, he did not disappoint as GT became the champion in their maiden campaign. This year, GT are in the top spot as of now with 12 points in nine games.

However, Pandya has not been able to have a good season so far based on his individual performances. In this season of IPL, he has scored 213 runs while grabbing only two wickets in eight matches. Now, an image has gone viral from the podcast named ‘Aava De With Hardik Pandya’ where the GT skipper was seen giving an exclusive interview to former CSK player, Robin Uthappa.

The episode has been streamed exclusively on JioCinema. But, during that podcast, Pandya came up with a huge admiration for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He said: ‘CSK has been inspiring for me, getting the best out of players.’ Hardik Pandya made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians (MI) and was a part of that franchise from 2013 to 2021. He also won the IPL four times during his tenure in MI. So, it was quite shocking for MI fans to see him talking about getting inspired by CSK. Basically, CSK and MI have always enjoyed a great rivalry over the years. 

MI have won the won this title for the most number of times (five). While CSK are the second-best team with four IPL trophies in their cabinet. Meanwhile, in the last match against Delhi Capitals (DC), Hardik Pandya got heavily criticised for not winning the game for his team despite being unbeaten on 59* runs off 53 balls while chasing 131 runs. During the post-match presentation, he said: “I tried my best but could not capitalize. It boils down to me. It boils down to how I was not able to finish the game. Full marks to their bowlers as well and full ownership for my side where I could not finish the game. I should've.”
