India pacer Jhulan Goswami’s brilliant performance in the recently concluded ODI series against Australia has enabled her to rise to the second spot in the ICC Women’s ODI Rankings for the bowlers. Goswami took four wickets and scored 56 vital runs for the team lower down the order. Her crucial unbeaten eight runs allowed India to win a thriller in the last game.

So Goswami’s scintillating performance has been reflected in the rankings. Meanwhile, swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batter Alyssa Healy has moved to the second on the rankings for the batters. Healy scored 112 runs in the three ODIs. Her bludgeoning knock of 77 in the first ODI paved way for a thumping nine wickets victory.

On the other hand, her Australia teammate Beth Mooney, who had a breakthrough ODI series, has for the first time broken in the top 10 rankings for the batters in the ODIs. The southpaw scored 177 in two innings and her unbeaten 125 in the second ODI was certainly one of the best knocks in the run-chases for Australia.

These three have gained majorly due to their stupendous performance in the ODI series. Besides Goswami, England’s pace duo Kate Cross and Anya Shrubsole too gained in the rankings and are placed 10th and ninth respectively. The duo’s consistent wickets during the team’s just-concluded five-match ODI series against New Zealand allowed an easy 4-1 victory for the hosts.

In the batters ranking, Mooney hogged the majority of the limelight. She is currently placed eight on the rankings. While skipper Meg Lanning and Smriti Mandhana, are placed seventh and sixth respectively. By her lofty standards, Lanning only scored 59 runs in the three OIDs.
