Speaking on JioHotstar, Kumble asserted that he has always been a great admirer of Kuldeep Yadav. He added that despite Kuldeep getting limited opportunities in international cricket, he has a strong ability to turn the game’s complexion with his match-winning abilities.

"Absolutely brilliant! I've always been a great admirer of Kuldeep Yadav, and despite limited opportunities, he consistently showcases his match-winning abilities. It's not easy to maintain rhythm and confidence without regular play, but Kuldeep seized this chance perfectly in the first innings. He played a pivotal role in dismantling the West Indies batting line-up, demonstrating control and composure,” Anil Kumble said on JioHotstar.

While his spell read 26.5-4-82-5 in the first innings, he went on to concede 53 runs in 11 overs without scalping a wicket in the second innings. However, the former Indian spinner backed the attacking spinner to grab the spotlight on Day 4 with the ball.

"I expect him to be central again when India returns to bowl on Day 4 and aims to claim the remaining wickets. Kuldeep's outstanding performances have been evident across formats whenever given the opportunity, whether with the red or white ball," he added.

Furthermore, Kumble also heaped praise on the West Indies batters for stitching an exceptional partnership on the third day of the second Test. Shai Hope (66*) and John Campbell (87*) stitched a 138-run unbeaten stand for the third wicket in follow-on as they are still trailing by 97 runs.

"The partnership combined caution with aggression and showcased the true flair of West Indies cricket. The conditions suited their style more, with slower pitches allowing sufficient time to adjust shots against the spinners. The application was strong, fuelled by the belief instilled from the lower order’s performance in the first innings by Phillip and Pierre. The message from the lower order to play straight and apply themselves evidently resonated,” he concluded.
