I don't think it will make that much of a difference - Ravi Shastri

All it happened after the news of Rahul Dravid testes positive for the Virus. So, he will have to miss the entire tournament commencing on the 27th of September later this week. Notably, India will start their campaign in the tournament against the arch-rivals Pakistan in the second match of the tournament.

But the news of Rahul Dravid went on to spread tension in the Indian camp. Fans were quite worried about Dravid’s health but Shastri had something else to say on this.

"I don't think it will make that much of a difference. Today, don't call it Covid, it's just a bl**dy flu. In 3-4 days, it will be fine. He will be back in the park," said Ravi Shastri while speaking during the Star Sports Show.

Shastri considers himself that COVID-19 is no more dangerous than in comparison to the past days or months. He went on to urge the fans to treat covid similarly during a discussion on national television.

"Even I could have when I had Covid-19 last year, I could have gone into the dressing room in 6 days. I promise you if I had gone into the dressing room in 6-7 days and we would have played that Test match and won it at Old Trafford. This Covid, Covid, you don't talk about Covid now. It's just flu. Take a couple of paracetamols and he would be back in time for India vs Pakistan," he added later in his statement.

Although, his remarks didn’t go down well with some of the fans and they took to Twitter for lashing out and making fun of the former all-rounder.
