The Asia Cup 2023 is scheduled to take place in Pakistan. But, before the 20-20 World Cup in 2022, Jay Shah said that India will not visit Pakistan for the tournament. After that, several meetings occurred and as per the last reports, the Men in Blue might play their matches in a different country while the rest of the tournament will happen in Pakistan.

Sri Lanka, Oman, UAE, and England have been the shortlisted countries to host India’s matches. However, PCB is not happy and they even claimed that they will also look to play their ODI World Cup matches in neutral venues also. Now, regarding the same matter, the General Manager of the Apex council of cricket, Wasim Khan said that the Men in Green might end up playing their World Cup matches at neutral matches. 

“I don’t think that Pakistan will play their matches in India.” - Wasim Khan

In an interview with a local channel, Wasim Khan said: “I don’t know if it would take place here on in a different country but a neutral venue is highly likely. I don’t think that Pakistan will play their matches in India. I think their matches will also be held at a neutral venue just like India’s Asia Cup matches.” Speaking about Wasim, he worked as the PCB Chief executive before resigning in 2021. Then, in 2022, he got appointed as the General Manager of the Apex council of cricket. The ODI World Cup will take place in October 2023 in India.

The Men in Blue will look to win the World Cup for the third time in their history while England will look to defend their title. Pakistan last won the World Cup in 1992. So, Babar Azam and his men will look to win the trophy for the second time in their cricketing history. Listening to such a statement from Wasim Khan, fans came up and slammed him all over the internet.
