Naveen-ul-Haq is currently busy playing in the ongoing T20 Blast 2023 in England for Leicestershire. However, he came into the headlines during the recently concluded IPL by getting involved in an ugly verbal spat with Virat Kohli during LSG vs RCB clash. After that, he has been teased on all grounds of India with the ‘Kohli, Kohli’ chant.

He even came up with some cheeky social media stories, especially the ‘Mango’ related, to take indirect dogs at Kohli and RCB. But, Lucknow Super Giants came up with a tweet to appreciate him as Naveen hit three sixes for his team against Northamptonshire on 2 June at Northampton. Seeing that tweet, fans shared their mixed views.

Here is the shared tweet:

“It gives me passion to play well for my team.” – Naveen-ul-Haq after the eliminator clash

Speaking of the match, Leicestershire batted first and scored 164 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. While batting so down the order, the LSG pacer smashed 25* runs off just eight balls, including one four and three sixes. Seeing him hitting those gigantic sixes, LSG shared the video of his innings with a caption: “Wait for the last one.” However, in reply, Northamptonshire chased down the target with ease with seven balls and eight wickets in hand. With the ball also, he took one wicket for 26 runs in four overs.

Meanwhile, LSG lost in the eliminator against Mumbai Indians (MI) in Chennai. In that clash, he took four wickets for 38 runs in four overs. So, after the game, Naveen responded on how the ‘Kohli, Kohli’ chant helps him to perform well for his team. In the post-match press conference, he said: “I enjoy it (chanting). I like that everybody in the ground is chanting his name, or any other player’s name. It gives me passion to play well for my team. I don’t concentrate on the outside noise. I just focus on my own cricket. It’s not like if the crowd is chanting or anyone is saying something… it doesn’t affect me. As professional sportsmen you have to take it in your stride. One day you will not do your best for the team and these fans are going to give it to you. On another day, you’ll do a special thing for your team and the same people are going to chant your name.”
