On 10 April 2023, the stage was set at the Chinnaswamy stadium as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) took on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the ongoing IPL. RCB lost their last match against KKR while LSG came to this clash after a win over SRH. So, the home side were looking to get back into winning ways.

Speaking of the match, KL Rahul won the toss and asked RCB to bat first. Wayne Parnell got his debut for the home side. On the other hand, Mark Wood also came back to the playing XI for LSG. For the Bangalore franchise, Virat Kohli and the skipper, Faf du Plessis came out to open the innings.

LSG defeated RCB by one wicket in IPL 2023

Both batters were on song as they scored 56 runs in the first six overs. Their first wicket fell on 96 runs in 11.3 overs. Kohli scored 61 runs off 44 balls, including four fours and four sixes. Then, Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis put up a fantastic show and managed a partnership of 115 runs for the second wicket. Maxwell scored 59 runs off 29 balls, including three fours and six sixes. The RCB skipper remained not out on 79* runs off 46 balls, including five fours and five sixes. Thus, they posted a huge total of 212 runs for two wickets in 20 overs. For LSG, only Mark Wood and Amit Mishra took one wicket each.

Then, for the chase, KL Rahul and Kyle Mayers came out as openers. But, Mayers scored a three-ball duck. Then, they lost two more wickets and completely were struggling at 23 runs in four overs. After that, Marcus Stoinis came and played some delightful shots. Finally, he got out on 65 runs off 30 balls, including six fours and five sixes. Rahul’s struggle came to an end as he scored 18 runs off 20 balls. But, Nicholas Pooran showed some outrageous six-hitting skills and scored 62 runs off 19 balls. He hit seven sixes and four fours. After that, RCB bowlers showed a fight and the equation came down to one run needed from one ball with one wicket in hand. Finally, LSG managed to score that and won the match.
