The Indian Cricket Team has been going on from strength to strength after achieving Test status in 1932. The team then started winning at home. It turned a new leaf with overseas tour wins in the West Indies and also against England. Then in 1983 when no one expected the side to do much after the poor World Cup performances in 1975 and 1979, it stunned West Indies and everyone after winning their first-ever World Cup.
28 years later, The Indian Team repeated history on home turf under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni in Mumbai. The Men in Blue beat Sri Lanka in the final. The Rohit Sharma-led side will want to repeat history in the 2023 ODI World Cup which will be held on home turf.
