Ishan Kishan is one of the best left-handers I have seen: Shivam Dube

Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube has heaped praise on the No.3 batter Ishan Kishan and the Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav for their exceptional partnership, which propelled India to chase down a huge 209-run target in just 15.2 overs against New Zealand in the second T20I on Friday, January 23.

Kishan and Surya were in the middle when India was struggling at 6/2 in 1.1 overs. However, they went on to stitch a 122-run partnership for the third wicket as Kishan smacked an exceptional 76-run knock off 32 balls with 11 fours and four sixes.

In the process, Team India went past Pakistan's record for the fastest 200+ run chase in T20I cricket, in terms of balls among full member nations, as they chased New Zealand's target in only 15.2 overs.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Dube asserted that Ishan Kishan is one of the best left-handers he has seen in the shortest format of the game, calling him a small pocket blast.

"Ishan Kishan is one of the best left-handers I have seen. He is called a small pocket blast. So I think his batting is very strong, and he showed it in domestic matches as well. We really enjoyed Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav's partnership,” Dube said in the post-match press conference.

Furthermore, Dube also lauded Suryakumar for his match-winning 82-run unbeaten knock off 37 balls with nine fours and four sixes. Interestingly, SKY and Dube forged an 81-run unbeaten stand for the fourth wicket to take their side over the line.

"Suryakumar Yadav is such a player; when he's in form, the world knows what he's capable of. So today, he reminded everyone why he is the number one T20 batter,” he added.
