Pakistan is currently hosting a historic three-match Test series against England. After a 17-year hiatus, the English team is playing a Test match in Pakistan. The series opener is currently underway at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Ben Stokes' team won the toss and elected to bat first. This decision paid off, as Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett put on an excellent opening partnership.

The two were focused and determined to get quick runs in the first session of the first day. They wasted no time getting started, hitting early boundaries in the match. Pakistan bowlers, on the other hand, failed to put any pressure on the batters early in the day. Crawley (122 runs in 111 balls) and Duckett (107 in 110 balls) were able to get quick runs in because there was no bounce, swing, turn, or drift.

After their wickets in quick succession, other English batters continued from where they left off. While the former team captain Joe Root, could not do much, Ollie Pope and Harry Brook took the charge of the innings. After a few quick wickets, Pope took his time regaining control of the innings, while Brook showed no mercy on the bowlers.

The two batted their way through the second session of the day, giving England complete control of the match. Pope (108 runs in 104 balls) completed his century shortly after the break but lost his wicket soon after. Brook, on the other hand, maintained his dominance by hitting the only two sixes of the day. As he was joined by captain Ben Stokes, he too completed his century, just as the umpires were forced to call it a day due to poor lighting.

At the end of day one, England managed a score of 506/4, the highest day one score in Test cricket. This also included four centuries. Brook currently is unbeaten on 101 in just 81 balls, while Stokes has a score of 34 runs in 15 balls. In the meantime, fans blamed Ramiz Raja and the PCB for preparing a flat track in the 'historic' Test match.
