IPL: RR vs GT head to head record

The 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to commence on March 22 with the clash between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. However, the Rajasthan Royals will be playing their first game of the season on the next day. When it comes to their face-off against the Gujarat Titans, it is scheduled on April 9 and April 28 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur respectively.

The two teams will be facing two times this season after locking horns only once last year. As far as head to head record is concerned, Gujarat Titans have dominated the Royals a lot in the short history. Ever since the Titans made their debut in the cash-rich league in IPL 2022, the two teams have faced each other six times.

The Royals have managed only a solitary win over the Titans so far and have lost a staggering five matches. Interestingly enough, GT and RR faced off three times in IPL 2022 including once in the final and the Titans won all three matches pretty comfortably. The Royals only managed to register their first win over GT in IPL 2023, chasing 178 runs in Ahmedabad.

Looking at the battles between the two sides, it is certain that this rivalry is going to build nicely over the upcoming years. These two teams served up a last-ball thriller last year. For the Royals, the duo of Samson and Riyan Parag played a starring role as they scored 68* and 76 respectively to post a mammoth total of 196 runs in their 20 overs.

In response, Shubman Gill led from the front to smash 72 runs off 44 balls with seven fours and two sixes while the rest of the batters chipped in with brilliant strike rates to help the team get over the line. GT chased down the 197-run target on the last ball of the innings to make it 5-1 in the head to head records against the Royals.
