IPL: RCB vs PBKS head-to-head record

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has been one of the most exciting teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL) over the years. Despite not winning a title yet, they have played an entertaining brand of cricket, and their passionate fans have always supported them. In the last edition, RCB finished fourth in the group stage but lost to Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Eliminator. This season, they will aim for their maiden title under their new captain, Rajat Patidar. Their campaign begins on 22 March in Kolkata against the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

One of the most exciting matches for RCB this season will be against Punjab Kings (PBKS). They will host PBKS on 18 April in Bengaluru, while the reverse fixture will take place on 20 April in Mullanpur. PBKS had a tough season last year, finishing ninth with just 10 points from 14 matches (five wins, nine losses). 

This time, they will hope for a turnaround under new management and a new captain, Shreyas Iyer. Interestingly, Iyer led KKR to the title last season, and PBKS fans will hope he can guide them to their first-ever IPL trophy.

Looking at their head-to-head record, PBKS holds a slight edge over RCB. In 33 encounters, PBKS has won 17 matches, while RCB has won 16. However, RCB dominated their clashes last season, winning both games—one in Bengaluru and the other in Dharamsala. 

Virat Kohli played a key role in those victories, earning the Player of the Match award in both games. He scored 77 off 49 balls in one match and 92 off 47 in the other. PBKS will begin their campaign against Gujarat Titans (GT) in Ahmedabad on 25 March. Starting with an away fixture will be a tough challenge for them. 

In the last five meetings between RCB and PBKS, RCB has won three times. They will look to continue their dominance, while PBKS will aim to turn the tide and extend their overall lead in this rivalry.
