Mumbai Indians (MI) all-time best XI

Mumbai Indians (MI) are looking strong in this year’s IPL, as they are still in contention for the playoffs. They currently sit in fourth position with 14 points from 12 games and a net run rate of +1.156. Over the years, several top players from across the globe have represented this franchise.

Under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy alone, MI have won all five of their IPL titles so far, and hence, he gets a direct entry into the all-time best XI as the skipper. Not only as a captain, but also as an individual batter, he has excelled over the years as an opener.

To support him at the top, there has to be the former Team India and MI great, Sachin Tendulkar, who has been the soul of this franchise. Former West Indies star Lendl Simmons should be at number three, as he is known for his explosive batting ability.

Then, at number four, the most consistent, innovative, and exciting batter of MI in recent years, Suryakumar Yadav, should be there. Ambati Rayudu played some outstanding knocks in the middle order during his tenure with Mumbai, and can be the wicketkeeper. Hence, he gets the number five position.

MI fans will love to see both Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard at numbers six and seven, respectively. With their all-round abilities, they are valuable assets to this team, and Pandya could be given the vice-captaincy role.

The lone spinner should be the former Team India spinner Harbhajan Singh, who also shone with the bat on several crucial occasions with his clean strikes. Then comes the vicious pace bowling trio of Lasith Malinga, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mitchell McClenaghan.

This trio not only brings lethality but also adds variety to the bowling unit and gives options to Rohit as the skipper. MI fans are well aware of the deadly yorkers from both the former Sri Lanka great Malinga and the current Team India star pacer Bumrah. Hence, that duo would surely bring nightmares for the opposition on their day.
