IPL: MI vs DC head-to-head record

Another season of the Indian Premier League is just around the corner, coming up with lots of reasons for the Indians to celebrate the summers. The IPL time has been really seen as a festive moment in the country which is said to be worshipping the game.

The tournament starts March 22 with a clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders. Mumbai Indians will be playing the first game of the season on March 23 while Delhi Capitals on March 24.

Both these teams have been playing in the tournament right from the start in 2008 wherein Mumbai went on to win the title five times while Delhi has failed to get the trophy even once. They played their maiden final in the year 2020 and even then they faced Mumbai in the finals and were on the losing side eventually.

Despite the wide gap between their title victories, the gap is rather narrow regarding the victorious clashes between these two teams. They have played a total of 35 matches between them where Mumbai has won 19 games while Delhi came out winners on 16 of those occasions.

The last five matches played between these two teams have also been dominated by Mumbai Indians. They are leading the clash 3-2 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The last matches at their home grounds were won by the home teams respectively.

Between the two teams, Rohit Sharma is the leading run-scorer by a far margin as he holds 849 runs against, 364 more than the second-best Ishan Kishan who stands with 485 runs. Jasprit Bumrah too likes to perform well against Delhi as he leads the charts with 26 wickets in the tally.

The list for scoring runs and taking away the most wickets have also been dominated by the Mumbai boys having led the charts 3-2 in both those lists among the top five performances.

Apart from the cultural tug-of-war between the two cities, the IPL games are another entertaining war between them and surely the matches to come this season would also be great.
