The highest scorers from each IPL season are included on the IPL Orange Cap Winners List. One week following the start of the IPL's inaugural season, it was unveiled on April 25, 2008. When fielding, an IPL player who is vying for the cap dons a temporary orange cap. 

Depending on the total number of runs scored over a season, a player wearing the IPL orange cap may continue to change. On the last day of the season, the winner of the orange cap is announced and given a special award. Legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Chris Gayle, and Shaun Marsh are just some of the notable cricketers who have won the Orange Cap in the last 15 years.

David Warner of Australia is the record holder for the most Orange Cap victories. When playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2015, 2017, and 2019, he was the team's highest scorer for three seasons. In 2024, Virat Kohli became the first Indian to win the award twice.
