IPL: List of Fastest Fifty in Tournament History

On 11 May 2023, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) took on Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the ongoing IPL. The match took place at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Speaking of the match, Sanju Samson won the toss and asked KKR to bat first. While batting first, they scored 149 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs.

Only Venkatesh Iyer scored a fifty while for RR, Yuzvendra Chahal took four wickets in his four overs. In reply, Yashasvi Jaiswal made a solid start to the innings and smashed the fastest fifty in the history of IPL. While chasing 150 runs, Jaiswal smashed fifty from just 14 balls as RR scored 78 runs for one wicket in the first six overs. KKR bowlers were absolutely clueless in front of the young southpaw batter.

1. Yashasvi Jaiswal (13 balls)

This RR spinner smashed the fifty in just 13 balls against KKR at Eden Gardens, Kolkata in IPL 2023. 

2. KL Rahul, Pat Cummins (14 balls)

KL Rahul scored fifty in 14 balls against Delhi Capitals (DC) while playing for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in IPL 2018. While Pat Cummins smashed a fifty on the same ball against Mumbai Indians (MI) while playing for KKR in IPL 2022.

3. Yusuf Pathan, Sunil Narine, Nicholas Pooran (15 balls)

Yusuf Pathan smashed fifty in 15 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) while playing for KKR in IPL 2014. For the same team, Sunil Narine also smashed a fifty on the same balls against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2017. Then, Nicholas Pooran also smashed fifty off 15 balls against RCB in IPL 2023.                  

4. Suresh Raina, Ishan Kishan (16 balls)

Suresh Raina smashed fifty in just 16 balls against KXIP in IPL 2014 while playing for CSK. Then, Ishan Kishan scored fifty in just 16 balls against SRH in IPL 2021 while playing for MI.  

5. Kieron Pollard (2), Chris Gayle, Sunil Narine, Hardik Pandya, Adam Gilchrist, Ishan Kishan, Chris Morris, Nicholas Pooran (17 balls)          

On 17 balls, eight players smashed the fifties in the history of IPL. Kieron Pollard smashed two fifties in 17 balls during his playing days.
