IPL: KKR vs LSG head to head record

Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants are scheduled to lock horns against each other only once in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The match between the two teams will take place on April 6 this season at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata at 3:30 PM IST.

Interestingly, the two enterprising teams had faced each other twice in the previous edition. On both occasions, the Knight Riders emerged victorious comfortably and the onus is now on the team from Lucknow to hit back this time around.

Phil Salt was the star for KKR in the first match between these two teams last season. His unbeaten 89-run knock helped the eventual champions gun down the target of 162 runs. For LSG, Nicholas Pooran and KL Rahul did well but their efforts were not enough in the end.

The second face-off was at the home ground Lucknow at the Ekana Stadium. But this time too, KKR were too dominant. Sunil Narine starred smashing 81 runs off 39 deliveries for them while the other batters also contributed as KKR posted a mammoth total of 235 runs on the board. In response, LSG were bundled out for just 137 runs to lose by 98 runs.

As far as the overall head to head record is concerned, KKR and LSG have locked horns against each other five times in the IPL so far. LSG were introduced to the cash-rich league only in 2022 and this rivalry is expected to grow in competition in the coming years.

Coming back to head to head record, LSG are currently leading, having won three matches so far. Interestingly, they won the first three matches against KKR before going down twice last year. This year, the Lucknow franchise have a chance to extend their lead and make it 4-2.

At the same time, KKR will be looking to make it 3-3 and with both teams getting a new look due to the mega auction, the rivalry will resume in a thrilling way.
