IPL: DC vs PBKS head-to-head record

Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals squared off against each other in 33 games and have a brilliant history of fierce rivalry. They have given tough competition to each other and no team has been able to boss the other one completely. Punjab has managed to take a fine lead with 17 wins to their name while Delhi is right behind with 16 wins under their belt.

The rivalry between the two teams goes back to 2008, the year when the tournament started, however, Punjab had managed to win both the games that year with a small margin due to tough competition from Delhi. 

When it comes to playoffs, both these teams don’t have too great of a record. Punjab Kings, previously known as Kings XI Punjab, have qualified for the playoffs just twice in 17 years of the tournament, having done so in 2008 and 2014. They failed to win the trophy in 2014, as KKR beat them to get their second title. Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, have qualified six times with just one final to their name as well, which they were not able to clinch.

The two teams faced each other back in 2008 at the PCA Stadium in Mohali, the home ground for Punjab. Delhi were restricted to a decent total of 158 runs, in reply of which, Punjab did a pretty good job with solid efforts from Simon Katich and Yuvraj Singh. In a quite close call, Punjab managed to win by four wickets in the last over.

Punjab has maintained the longest streak of four winning matches while Delhi has done three for the same. This goes on to show the fierce competition between the two teams. Punjab has won seven of their 8 home games while Delhi and Punjab share six matches each at the Delhi Stadium. Winning nine of the thirteen games at the neutral venues, Delhi takes the lead over Punjab.
