IPL: CSK vs GT head-to-head record

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT), are both champion teams with titles. The clashes between the two are always a treat to watch out for. They have faced each other seven times in the Indian Premier League so far, where two of these seven encounters have been in the knockout stages of the league.

Gujarat Titans hold an advantageous position over the Super Kings when the head-to-head record is kept in mind. Titans have won four while Super Kings managed to win three of these games, which also include two important knockout games.

Their first encounter came in 2022 at the MCA Stadium in Pune, where Titans elected to field and restricted CSK for a total of 169. They then chased the total on the penultimate ball of the game and David Miller was awarded Player of the Match for his scintillating knock.

Their second encounter was again in the same year with the same results, changing only the margin of the victory secured. Wriddhiman Saha was the Player of the Match this time with GT winning the game by 7 wickets.

Maintaining their absolute domination, Gujarat thrashed Super Kings once again making a hat-trick of victories, this time in the opener of the 2023 season at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad by five wickets. The next two games between these teams were the two knockout games they have played with each other.

Qualifier 1 of the 2023 season saw CSK finally emerging victorious over the Titans as they pushed themselves into the finals with a win by 15 runs. GT faced CSK once again as they reached their second final in two seasons, but could not cross the finishing line this time around as CSK won the game and the title by five wickets on the last ball.

Coming to the 2024 season, it was the turn of CSK to make a hat-trick of victories as they thrashed GT this time by a huge margin of 63 runs at Chepauk. Showing their mettle, Gujarat rose in their next clash, beating CSK by 35 runs.

While Ruturaj Gaikwad from CSK has been the highest run-getter between the two teams, Mohit Sharma from GT has managed to take the maximum number of wickets. The games between these two teams are expected to be another hit this year as well.
