It was another disappointing loss for the Men in Blue in a major final. However, after the final, Team India head coach, Rahul Dravid came up and in an interaction with Star Sports, he indirectly took a dig at the tight International schedule. Hearing that, fans went crazy and shared their views on social media.

Second consecutive WTC final loss for Team India

Dravid said: "The schedules are very tight. We hardly got a few weeks of preparation after the IPL, plus there weren't any tour games. I'm not here to complain, many congratulations to Australia". India straight came to this clash after finishing IPL at home. So, it seemed that Dravid blamed the schedule for the loss rather than the failure of his players. Speaking of the match, Australia scored 469 in their first innings while India got bundled out for 296 runs in their first innings. Then, with a lead of 173 runs, the Aussies declared their second innings at 270 runs for eight wickets.

While chasing 444 runs, India got bundled out for 234 runs and lost the match by 209 runs. After the loss, skipper Rohit Sharma said: "It was a tough one. We started well winning the toss and putting them into bat in those conditions. We bowled pretty well in the first session and then we let ourselves down a little bit with how we bowled. But again, credit to the Australian batters, in particular, Travis Head came in and played really well. That took us off guard a little bit and then we knew it was always hard to come back.”
