IPL: Ambati Rayudu picks strongest MI-CSK combined XI

Former Indian top-order batter Ambati Rayudu has picked the strongest MI-CSK combined XI. Notably, Rayudu was part of the Mumbai Indians set-up for eight IPL seasons and was with CSK for six seasons.

For the unversed, Rayudu went on to win six IPL titles - three each with MI and CSK. He made his IPL debut in 2009 and has included himself as an impact player in the combined MI-CSK strongest XI.

He picked Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma as his two opening batters, while Suresh Raina, Mr IPL, made it to the No.3 spot. While Sachin played 78 IPL games, scoring 2334 runs, Rohit has smacked 5458 runs from 212 IPL games, making his debut in IPL 2011.

On the other hand, Raina ended his IPL career with 4687 runs from 176 games for the CSK franchise. Moreover, Rayudu went on to pick Suryakumar Yadav and Kieron Pollard for his No. 4 and No. 5 spots. Later, he picked MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, and Dwayne Bravo for the 6th, 7th, and 8th spots respectively.

It’s worth noting that Pollard played all IPL seasons for the MI franchise, winning five titles while Bravo was part of the MI franchise before making it to the CSK team in IPL 2011 auction.

Later, Rayudu selected Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga as two pacers in his line-up whole Harbhajan Singh was picked as the sole spinner. While Bumrah has pocketed 165 wickets in 133 IPL games, Malinga has picked up 170 wickets from 122 games.

Meanwhile, Harbhajan Singh has scalped 127 wickets for MI, while he picked up 23 wickets for the CSK franchise.
