IPL: 3 RR players who may find a new team in IPL 2026

The first-ever Indian Premier League (IPL) champions, the Rajasthan Royals, had one of the most difficult seasons in the competition's eighteen-year existence, winning just four of their fourteen games in the 2025 season, which ended earlier this month. The Royals may release these three players before the 2026 Indian Premier League.

Shimron Hetmyer

The Rajasthan Royals will be in a frantic search for a Hetmyer improvement. The Indian core in the batting lineup is stronger now that Vaibhav is performing well. RR may now concentrate on the other departments, particularly the bowling department. They could release the West Indian player to raise money for the same.

Throughout the season, Hetmyer has not performed well, frequently failing in chasing down the targets for his side. It is conceivable that the Royals might search for an alternative to Hetmyer at the mini-auction.

Tushar Deshpande

Tushar Deshpande, who was purchased at the IPL 2025 auction for INR 6.5 crore, took nine wickets at an economy rate of 10.6 and an average of 37.8 in ten games. Deshpande had the fourth-worst economy rate among bowlers who bowled at least 30 overs in the 2025 Indian Premier League. During all three phases, the right-arm seamer performed poorly.

The Royals might alternatively keep Akash Madhwal and Sandeep Sharma if they must keep Indian seamers. In order to improve their finances and concentrate on stronger players, the squad may decide to release him.

Fazalhaq Farooqi

The Rajasthan Royals (RR) team spent an incredible INR 2 crore at the TATA IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah in November 2024 because of his devastating bowling spells for his national team, Afghanistan.

Farooqi was a huge disappointment, despite the team and its fans expecting the Afghan bowling wonder to obliterate the top batting lineups of many teams with his devastating bowling spell. Fazalhaq Farooqi bowled seventeen overs in the IPL 2025 edition, giving up 210 runs at an economy rate of 12.35 while not taking a single wicket.
