IPL: 3 PBKS players who may find a new team in IPL 2026

Almost everything for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) went well, except for the final. As a result, they won't need to make as many adjustments as teams like the Chennai Super Kings. Punjab's bases are largely covered. In any case, they will need to let go of at least a few players for the IPL 2026 auction, which may include the following players.

1. Glenn Maxwell

After being acquired by the Punjab Kings for ₹4.20 crore, Glenn Maxwell didn't contribute much before his season was cut short by a finger injury. With a top score of 30 against the Rajasthan Royals, he only managed 55 runs overall.

He struggled to get going against Sunrisers Hyderabad and KKR, scoring only 3 and 7 runs in those matches. Despite taking four wickets, he was a little costly with the ball. He is probably going to be on the PBKS released players 2026 list because of the injuries and inconsistent play.

2. Marcus Stoinis

Prior to the 2025 IPL, Punjab Kings paid ₹11 crore to sign Marcus Stoinis. He was a regular player who amassed 160 runs in 13 innings, including a high of 44* against the Delhi Capitals. He didn't have many big scores, but his batting did contribute in some meaningful ways.

In the games he played, he gave up runs with little effect and only claimed one wicket with the ball. Given his exorbitant cost and lacklustre all-around performance, he is anticipated to be another Aussie included on the 2026 list of PBKS released players.

3. Lockie Ferguson

At the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, Punjab Kings (PBKS) paid Rs. 2 crore for the New Zealand bowler Lockie Ferguson. Before being forced out of the IPL 2025 because of a hamstring injury, he had a respectable showing for Punjab Kings, taking five wickets in four games.

Ferguson's persistent fitness problems may cause Punjab Kings to contemplate releasing him, more than his performance. He has also experienced injury problems in the past. Therefore, PBKS might search the upcoming auction for a more reliable foreign pacer.
