IPL: 3 GT players who may find a new team in IPL 2026

After losing to the Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator, the Gujarat Titans were eliminated from the 2025 Indian Premier League. The Titans had a solid and reliable season under Shubman Gill's leadership, winning nine of their thirteen games. They had an amazing run, but they failed when it mattered the most and were unable to advance to the next round. So, they would be looking to let go of a few players, which can be the following :

1. Rashid Khan

Since the team's 2022 tournament debut, the Afghanistan spinner has been a crucial member of GT. But he hasn't played well in the 2025 Indian Premier League. With an economy rate of 9.38, Rashid has been costly despite only taking 8 wickets in 13 games.

In the earlier iterations, Batters had trouble taking Khan to the cleaners, but now they can simply outsmart him. Maybe it's time for GT to let Rashid and maybe another team can make better use of him.

2. Ishant Sharma

In the IPL 2025 mega auction, the Gujarat Titans selected Ishant Sharma for INR 75 lakhs. Despite playing seven games this season, he has only claimed four wickets. At 11.18, his economy rate has also been somewhat higher.

At 36 years of age, and with his present form, GT might contemplate releasing him ahead of next season. They already have backups like Arshad Khan and Gerald Coetzee in addition to potent pace alternatives like Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Kagiso Rabada. The Gujarat Titans may benefit from Ishant's departure and the addition of a younger Indian fast bowler for the upcoming campaign.

3. Shahrukh Khan

Shahrukh Khan, a middle-order batsman, had few opportunities this season. Shahrukh didn't spend much time on the field because Rutherford was playing well above him in the batting order, and the combination of Sudharsan, Gill, and Buttler was responsible for the majority of the runs.

According to his record, he has never finished an IPL season with more than 200 runs. He amassed 147 runs in 13 games this year, including a high score of 57 against LSG, which also resulted in a loss. He might be better used by another team, therefore, GT might let him go.
