IPL: 3 DC players who may find a new team in IPL 2026

The Delhi Capitals lost a crucial match against MI, making them the final side eliminated from the IPL 2025 playoffs. With four consecutive victories to start the season, DC got off to a great start. But as the competition progressed to the halfway point, they lost steam. They want to cut a few players and improve their squad.

Faf du Plessis

In the previous cycle, Faf du Plessis had an outstanding run. Thus, the Delhi Capitals gambled on him in spite of his advanced age. In addition, he was named vice-captain. But it's obvious that the seasoned cricket player is getting older. He was unable to score too many runs, and it seems that his reflexes are failing him. 

He only managed to score 179 runs in 8 games with a strike rate of about 120, which isn't very good for someone starting at bat. Given his age, it is quite improbable that DC will keep him, and he will likely be acquired by another team.

T Natarajan

T Natarajan is another player DC has misused this season. The Tamil Nadu pacer has only appeared in two games for DC, missing all of the action until May because of an alleged potential injury. He went wicketless and gave up 49 runs in the one game he bowled. 

DC might as well let him go and find another reliable pacer if they don't plan to utilise him much. Finding someone like T Natarajan, who is a fantastic death bowler with on-target yorkers, would be a fortune for any squad.

Mukesh Kumar

This season, Mukesh Kumar, who excels at bowling yorkers at the end and swinging the ball early, has struggled with the Delhi Capitals. With an economy rate above 10, he conceded too many runs while taking 11 wickets in 11 games. He struggled to maintain composure, particularly under pressure, and frequently let up runs when the team needed him to bowl tightly. 

His position in the team is now in doubt due to his patchy performances and failure to claim significant wickets. To bolster their bowling, Delhi may think about swapping him out for a more dependable and successful Indian fast bowler.
