Who won yesterday's game between SRH vs DC?

The 55th match of the ongoing IPL 2025 between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Capitals (DC) ended with no result as the match was called off due to rain in Hyderabad. After winning the toss, SRH skipper Pat Cummins asked DC to bat first, and the decision turned out to be a significant one as the home side restricted the visitors to 133/7 in 20 overs.

Cummins was the star with the ball as he picked up three wickets in the powerplay itself, dismissing Karun Nair, Faf du Plessis, and Abishek Porel. Then, both KL Rahul and skipper Axar Patel also failed, and at one stage, DC were 29/5 in 7.1 overs. Then, Tristan Stubbs and Vipraj Nigam added some crucial runs before Vipraj got out in a horrible run-out mix-up for 18 (17).

After that, DC brought in Ashutosh Sharma as the impact sub, and the move paid off because he eventually played a 41-run knock off 26 balls, at a strike rate of 157.69 on that tricky pitch where balls were gripping and batters struggled throughout the innings to time the ball.

He and Stubbs put up a 66-run partnership for the seventh wicket, and ultimately, DC reached the total as Stubbs remained not out on 41 off 36 balls.

SRH are officially out of the playoff race for this season

Then, when the home fans were thinking that this target might not be a problem for the SRH batters, the rain struck heavily, and eventually, the match was called off. Both teams were awarded one point each, but with this result, SRH are officially out of the playoff race for this season.

For DC, they are still in the race with 13 points in 11 games and a net run rate of +0.362. The best possible way for them to get a place in the playoffs is to win all the remaining three games and take the tally to 19 points, which should be enough for them. But at least, they need to win two out of these upcoming three matches to be in that race.
