After winning the toss, PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer opted to bat first, and it turned out to be a good decision as they posted 219/5 in 20 overs. However, at one stage, things were not looking good as they were 34/3 in 3.1 overs, with batters like Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh, and debutant Mitchell Owen back in the dugout.

Then, Nehal Wadhera played brilliantly, scoring 70 off 37 balls along with Iyer’s 30 off 25. In the end, Shashank Singh played another fantastic knock, unbeaten on 59 off 30 balls, while the all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai added 21* off nine balls to take PBKS to that mammoth total.

For RR, Tushar Deshpande grabbed two wickets, while Kwena Maphaka, Riyan Parag, and Akash Madhwal took one each.

Let’s take a look at RR’s Chase

In reply, RR had a mind-boggling start, courtesy of the opening pair of Vaibhav Jaiswal and Yashasvi Jaiswal. For the first wicket, they added 76 runs in just 4.5 overs before Vaibhav was dismissed for 40 off 15 balls. Yashasvi added a few more before falling for 50 off 25 balls.

Both skipper Sanju Samson and Parag failed to come up with big scores, but it was Dhruv Jurel who tried his best, scoring 53 off 31 balls. However, due to a lack of support from the other end and no significant contributions from the middle order, RR ended up with 209/7 in 20 overs.

PBKS will face DC next in Jaipur on 24 May, while RR, currently sitting in the ninth spot with six points from 13 games, will play Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Delhi on 20 May.
