Punjab Kings (PBKS) faced their first loss of the IPL 2025 season as Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeated them by 50 runs in Mullanpur. RR's pace spearhead, Jofra Archer, was named Player of the Match for his match-winning spell. PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bowl first.
But the RR openers, Yashasvi Jaiswal and captain Sanju Samson, got their team off to a flying start. They shared an 89-run partnership in 10.2 overs. Jaiswal went on to score a brilliant 67 off 45 balls, while Samson added 38 off 26. At number three, Riyan Parag played another key knock.
