IPL 2025: Who won yesterday's game between PBKS vs RCB?

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) sealed their place in the IPL 2025 final, defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) by eight wickets in Qualifier 1 in Mullanpur. RCB’s Suyash Sharma won the Player of the Match award for his match-winning three-wicket spell.

After winning the toss, RCB skipper Rajat Patidar asked PBKS to bat first, and that decision turned out to be a nightmare for Shreyas Iyer’s side as they got bundled out for just 101 runs in 14.1 overs. Josh Hazlewood made a comeback in the playing XI and bagged three wickets along with Suyash’s three wickets.

Apart from them, Yash Dayal took two wickets while Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Romario Shepherd grabbed one each. For PBKS, only Marcus Stoinis (26 off 17), Prabhsimran Singh (18 off 10), and Azmatullah Omarzai (18 off 12) were the only players who managed to reach the double-digit mark with the bat.

In reply, RCB had a fantastic start with 30 runs added for the first wicket in just 3.2 overs. Virat Kohli got out after scoring 12 off 12, but Phil Salt continued to play his shots on a deck where balls were swinging, had bounce, and looked a bit tricky for the batters.

Eventually, he ended up hitting his fastest IPL fifty and remained not out on 56 off 27. Along with him, Mayank Agarwal scored 19 off 13, and the skipper, Patidar, remained not out on 15 off eight balls as RCB chased down the target with 10 overs and eight wickets left.

With this win, RCB entered the final of this IPL season, while PBKS now have to play Qualifier Two. There, they have to face the winner of the Eliminator. The Eliminator is set to be played on 30 May in Mullanpur between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Mumbai Indians (MI).
