Punjab Kings (PBKS) registered a seven-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians (MI) in Delhi in the 69th match of the ongoing IPL 2025. This was a crucial match because both teams were looking for a win to seal their place in Qualifier One, and PBKS managed to do it while MI failed.
PBKS’ Aussie wicketkeeper-batter, Josh Inglis, won the Player of the Match award for his 73-run knock. After winning the toss, the PBKS skipper, Shreyas Iyer, asked MI to bat first, and it was a decent start by the PBKS bowlers as MI were 87/3 in 10.5 overs. Ryan Rickelton (27 off 20) and Rohit Sharma (24 off 21) got starts but failed to convert, while Tilak Verma fell cheaply.
Ultimately, it was Suryakumar Yadav again who came up with a 57-run contribution, along with some support from down the order, courtesy of Will Jacks (17 off eight), skipper Hardik Pandya (26 off 15), and Naman Dhir (20 off 12).
MI ended up scoring 184/7 in 20 overs, and for PBKS, Arshdeep Singh, Vijaykumar Vyshak, and Marco Jansen bagged two wickets each. Harpreet Brar took one as well.
Let’s take a look at PBKS’ Chase
In reply, MI managed to dismiss Prabhsimran Singh (13 off 16) quickly, but Inglis was sent in at number three, and the move paid off as he and Priyansh Arya stitched a 109-run partnership for the second wicket. Arya got out on 62 off 35, and Inglis scored 73 off 42. Iyer finished things off with an unbeaten knock of 26 off 16 and sealed the game for his team.
