IPL 2025: Who won yesterday's game between LSG vs PBKS?

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) had a disappointing first home game at Ekana Cricket Stadium as they lost to Punjab Kings (PBKS) by eight wickets. With this win, PBKS have now won both their matches in IPL 2025, while LSG have lost two out of their three games. Prabhsimran Singh was named Player of the Match for his 69 off 34 balls while chasing 172.

PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bowl first. They restricted LSG to 171/7 in 20 overs. Nicholas Pooran (44 off 30), Ayush Badoni (41 off 33), Abdul Samad (27 off 12), and Aiden Markram (28 off 18) were the only batters to make decent contributions.

However, none of them could convert their starts into big scores. Arshdeep Singh was the star with the ball, taking three wickets. Lockie Ferguson, Glenn Maxwell, Marco Jansen, and Yuzvendra Chahal picked up one wicket each.

Let’s take a look at PBKS’s chase

In reply, PBKS opener Prabhsimran Singh played a brilliant knock of 69 off 34 balls at a strike rate of 202.94. His opening partner, Priyansh Arya, had a poor outing, but Prabhsimran and Shreyas Iyer built an 84-run partnership for the second wicket.

Nehal Wadhera came in as an impact substitute and played an unbeaten knock of 43 off 25 balls. His two sixes off Shardul Thakur were a treat to watch. Shreyas remained not out on 52 off 30 as PBKS chased down the target with eight wickets in hand and 22 balls to spare. For LSG, both wickets were taken by Digvesh Rathi.

With this win, PBKS moved to second place on the points table with four points from two games and a net run rate of +1.485. LSG are in sixth place with two points from three matches and a net run rate of -0.150. PBKS will next face Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Mullanpur on April 5, while LSG will take on Mumbai Indians (MI) in Lucknow on April 4.
