IPL 2025: Who won yesterday's game between LSG vs DC?

Delhi Capitals (DC) registered a convincing win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by eight wickets in Lucknow in the ongoing IPL 2025. DC’s Mukesh Kumar won the Player of the Match award for his four-fer. After winning the toss, DC skipper Axar Patel decided to bowl first.

Hence, for the home side, both Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh came out to open the innings, and they gave a solid start by adding 87 runs in 10 overs. Markram scored another fifty this season before getting out on 52 (33). Marsh also got out for 45 (36). But then, another disappointing outing for both Nicholas Pooran and Abdul Samad as they got out cheaply. 

In the end, David Miller remained not out on 14, but Ayush Badoni added a crucial 36 off 21 as LSG posted 159/6 in 20 overs. For DC, Mukesh Kumar was the star with the ball as he picked up four wickets. Mitchell Starc and Dushmantha Chameera also bagged one each.

In reply, the opening pair of DC managed a blistering start by adding 36 runs in just 3.4 overs. Karun Nair got out after scoring 15 off nine while Porel continued to play his shots as he got out, scoring 51 (36). At number three, KL Rahul came out to bat, and the former LSG skipper showed his class against his former team by smashing an unbeaten 57 off 42. 

Porel and Rahul stitched a 69-run partnership for the second wicket. Skipper Axar also supported Rahul with an unbeaten 34 off 20 as they added an unbeaten 56 runs for the third wicket and sealed the win for his team in 17.5 overs. For LSG, both the wickets were taken by Markram. 

With this result, DC are now in the second spot with 12 points in eight games, with a net run rate of +0.657, while LSG are now in the fifth spot with 10 points in nine games, with a net run rate of -0.054. DC’s next match is against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Delhi on 27 April, while LSG will take on Mumbai Indians (MI) on 27 April in Mumbai.
