IPL 2025: Who won yesterday's game between GT vs DC?

Jos Buttler’s unbeaten 97 powered Gujarat Titans (GT) to a convincing seven-wicket win over Delhi Capitals (DC) in Ahmedabad. For his brilliant knock while chasing 204, Buttler was named the Player of the Match.

GT skipper Shubman Gill won the toss and chose to bowl first. DC lost Abhishek Porel early for 18 off nine balls. KL Rahul and Karun Nair added some runs but couldn't convert their starts. Nair scored 31 off 18, while Rahul made 28 from 14 balls.

Captain Axar Patel top-scored for DC with 39 off 32 balls. Towards the end, Tristan Stubbs (31 off 21) and Ashutosh Sharma (37 off 19) added vital runs to help DC reach 203/8 in 20 overs. For GT, Prasidh Krishna stood out once again, picking up four wickets. Sai Kishore, Arshad Khan, Mohammed Siraj, and Ishant Sharma took one each.

In reply, GT had a slow start. Shubman Gill managed just seven runs. Sai Sudharsan then chipped in with a quick 36 off 21. But the star of the chase was Buttler. He stayed unbeaten on 97 off 54 balls. Sherfane Rutherford gave him solid support with 43 off 34. The duo stitched a 119-run stand for the third wicket in 11.2 overs.

GT chased down the target with four balls to spare, finishing at 204/3. With this win, GT moved to the top of the table with 10 points from seven matches and a net run rate of +0.984. DC also have 10 points from seven games but are in second place with a net run rate of +0.589.

GT will face defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) next in Kolkata on April 21. Meanwhile, DC’s next match is against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Lucknow on April 22.
