IPL 2025: Who won yesterday's game between DC vs SRH?

Delhi Capitals (DC) secured their second victory of the ongoing IPL 2025 season by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets in Visakhapatnam. With this win, DC have now won both of their matches so far, while SRH have suffered two losses in three games. DC’s Mitchell Starc was named Player of the Match for his brilliant five-wicket haul.

After winning the toss, SRH skipper Pat Cummins opted to bat first. However, they suffered early setbacks due to Starc’s exceptional spell with the new ball. At just 37 runs, SRH had already lost their fourth wicket, but Heinrich Klaasen and Aniket Verma steadied the innings with a crucial 77-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

Klaasen departed after scoring 32 off 19 balls, but Aniket played a stunning knock, smashing five fours and six sixes. He eventually scored 74 off 41 deliveries, helping SRH post 163 all out in 18.4 overs. Starc returned in the death overs to complete his five-wicket haul, while Kuldeep Yadav impressed with three wickets, and Mohit Sharma added one to his tally.

Let’s take a look at DC’s chase

In reply, DC got off to a fantastic start, thanks to the opening partnership between Faf du Plessis and Jake Fraser-McGurk. They added 81 runs in 9.1 overs before Jake fell for 38 off 32 balls. Du Plessis contributed a quick 50 off 27 deliveries, while KL Rahul chipped in with a five-ball 15.

Abhishek Porel remained unbeaten on 34 off 18, along with Tristan Stubbs, who scored an unbeaten 21 off 14, as DC comfortably chased down the target with seven wickets in hand and four overs to spare. Among SRH's bowlers, none could execute their plans effectively, except for 25-year-old Zeeshan Ansari, who claimed all three wickets.

With this result, DC now sit in second place on the points table with a strong net run rate of +1.320, while SRH have slipped to the seventh spot with a net run rate of -0.871. DC’s next match is against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 5 in Chennai, while SRH will face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Kolkata on April 3.
