IPL 2025: Who won yesterday's game between DC vs GT?

Gujarat Titans (GT) officially sealed their playoff berth with a commanding 10-wicket win over Delhi Capitals (DC) in Delhi in the ongoing IPL 2025. Sai Sudharsan was the star of the night, smashing an unbeaten century and winning the Player of the Match award while successfully chasing a 200-run target.

GT captain Shubman Gill won the toss and elected to bowl first. DC opener KL Rahul put on a show with a brilliant unbeaten knock of 112 off 65 balls, anchoring the innings as DC posted a challenging total of 199/3 in 20 overs. While Faf du Plessis failed to make an impact, Rahul found strong support from Abishek Porel, who added 30 off 19 deliveries. 

Together, they built a solid 90-run partnership for the second wicket. Axar Patel chipped in with 25 off 16, and Tristan Stubbs finished strongly with a quick unbeaten 21 off just 10 balls. For GT, Arshad Khan, Prasidh Krishna, and Sai Kishore picked up one wicket each.

In reply, DC’s bowlers had no answers for the GT openers. Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill stitched together a clinical and unbeaten partnership, chasing down the target with ease in 19 overs. Sudharsan was sensational, scoring 108* off 61 balls, while Gill remained not out on 93 off 53 deliveries.

With this dominant win, Gujarat Titans officially qualified for the playoffs and reclaimed the top spot on the points table with 18 points from 12 matches and a strong net run rate of +0.795.

For DC, the defeat was a setback in their push for a playoff berth. However, they are still in contention with two league-stage matches remaining. DC currently sit in fifth place with 13 points from 12 games and a net run rate of +0.260.

GT’s next clash is scheduled against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Ahmedabad on 22 May, while DC will take on Mumbai Indians (MI) in Mumbai on 21 May.
